Welcome to the un-official website for J.R.R. Tolkien's most lovable hobbit, Peregrin Took! Peregrin - or more commonly known as Pippin - was one of the Nine Walkers (The Fellowship of the Ring) that set out from Rivendell on 25 December, 3018 T.A. Although Elrond was originally against Pippin's going with the Company, Pippin proved himself to be indispensable to the Quest (despite his errors along the way) - and ultimately returned home to the Shire a hard willed and matured hobbit who quickly had to defend his home from a displaced Saruman and his ruffians. He did indeed succeed.

You can read more about Pippin's biography in J.R.R. Tolkien's Pippin, and if you take a look to the left, you will see all of the other Pippin links to explore! This is the place for all of your Peregrin Took needs.

I, Matthew M. Montelione, have created this site because Pippin is indeed my most favorite character in The Lord of the Rings. Read more about who I am in the About Me link. Enjoy the website!

News and Updates

Peregrin Took

10/13/09 - Wow. I've had the best two weeks ever! I had the pleasure of meeting Billy Boyd a handful of times in NYC: first at the Paley Center for Media where he, Howard Shore, and Doug Adams held a brilliant panel discussion on the music of The Lord of the Rings in preparation for the entire score of The Fellowship of the Ring being performed live to film at Radio City Music Hall on Oct. 9th and 10th. I saw Billy next when he performed with his amazing band BEECAKE at Joe's Pub. Billy and the band stuck around for a meet and greet afterwards, much to the delight of myself and the fans! I was lucky enough to meet Elijah Wood there too, as he was hanging out to check out Billy's band! On Oct. 9th I was graced with awesome seats for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring score performed live to the whole film at Radio City Music Hall. I was blown away - the symphony was so accurate and spot on that sometimes you forgot they were playing right in the front of you. Lastly, I attended BEECAKE's final show at Joe's pub on Oct. 10th. They were just as amazing as the first night, and Billy's voice was spot on yet again. Truly great music. Billy and the band did another meet and greet afterwards.

Just from meeting Billy a handful of times, I can honestly say that he is one of the nicest people around. He was so down to earth, and was always happy to chat with fans, take pictures, and sign autographs. These past two weeks have truly been some of the greatest days of my life! I would like to thank Billy, Beecake, and the whole crew involved with bringing The Lord of the Rings to NYC for making me one extremely happy fan! Until next time!

08/28/09 - I would like to wish Mr. Billy Boyd, the actor who played our beloved Pippin, a very Happy Birthday! Mr. Boyd is 41 today. I wish him the best and many more wonderful days to come!

08/05/09 - Greetings! I've been doing great things for our most beloved Pippin. If you look above you will see that the Facebook page is growing in numbers (thus I have added a window to it), and that I have recently put together two Pippin tribute videos that are now on the web. I will be posting them separately here shortly. The first video features slides of Pippin set to Howard Shore's "The Steward of the Gondor", and the other is the same slides set to the music of Patrice Deceuninck. Because of copyright issues, the tribute set to Howard Shore is muted on YouTube, however you can easily just play the track on your own computer and watch the tribute.

06/17/09 - Greetings from the Shire! This site has been up for a few months now and I've been receiving great feedback on it. I have been causing a lot of hype on Facebook with my Pippin page and group. All hail the Took!

On a side note, is everybody looking forward to THE HOBBIT film(s)? I, for one, am so excited! Feel free to e-mail me your thoughts, or you can find me on Facebook using the greatest link possible - http://www.facebook.com/peregrintook!

04/04/09 - Hullo! Since you're here, you know that PeregrinTook.com is officially up and running! Do you use FACEBOOK? If so, you will be pleased to know that I am tying this page to my FACEBOOK account. In other words, join my FACEBOOK Pippin PAGE and GROUP today!

If those links do not work for some reason, you could always search FACEBOOK under "Peregrin Took." Make sure it's my page and group - there is another one of the same name up there! Mine is called Peregrin "Pippin" Took and has THIS picture as the default. Thank you! Feel free to add me as well.
